How do I figure out what power supply I need to operate my LED strips?

To work out what power supply, sometimes called LED Driver, you need to power up your installation you only really need to know 2 things
1: What length of strip are you going to use
2: What is the power rating of the strip
On point 2, the watts per metre is on the description of each type of strip, see pic below
So lets say you want to run 3 metres of our most popular strip, LEDS-B, as you can see from the picture above, the wattage per metre is 4.8w so we multiply the number of metres by the wattage (3 x 4.8) which gives us a total wattage of 14.4w, we now know we need a power supply bigger than this number, like this one which will power up to 15w or this one which will power up to 30w.
